Jilted Ex-wife Billionaire Heiress

Chapter 95

Chapter 95 Showstopper

Bianca wasn't trained in modelling, but she carried herself well.

The loose petticoat helped to conceal her steps.

She listened to the music, tried to get a feel of the beat, and walked in time with that.

It was a good thing that the show was hosted at twilight

She wouldn't be nervous if she couldn't see the faces in the audience.

And there was no time to be nervous, anyway.

She had to take long strides to keep up with the pace of the rest of the models.

As she stopped at the end of the catwalk and posed, she spotted familiar faces peering up at her.

Some were friends, but she recognised two enemies.

Bianca picked up her pace on the walk back, hoping to catch Darya backstage to give her a heads-up.

Ryan was seated in the second row and couldn't remain still.

His attention was on his phone instead of the models, which was why he didn't notice the lannoveldrama

his way.

He had been to enough fashion shows in the past.

As soon as the first kid started strutting down the catwalk, he lost interest.

The only reason he came here tonight was to help his good friend find a date for the party next week.

But Micah looked even more bored than him.

"You can take Regina, Ryan whispered. 'She likes you. I can tell.'

Micah replied with a cold look.

'Come on,' Ryan spread out both hands. 'You don't like me to fix you up with somebody. You don't want to take Regina. Then what do you want?'

Micah said nothing, just tapped away on his tablet.

"You can't seriously be working right now.' Ryan leaned over and glimpsed the email Micah was composing. 'It's workaholics like you that give the rest of us a bad reputation. My dad's threatening to cut me off if I don't find something useful to do.'

'Then go find a job,' Micah said without looking up.

Ryan stuck out his lower lip. 'And do what? Sit behind a desk all day like you? No, thanks.'

He covered his mouth with one hand to stifle a yawn.

The music changed as he happened to look up.

He gawked at the model onstage, his mouth hanging open.

Darya glided down the catwalk.

Her walk had changed.

Her strides were purposeful and powerful when she wore the red phoenix dress, like she was about to charge

into battle.

Now she was relaxed and sauntering.

Her pace was smooth and natural.

She held her head up, keeping a regal posture.

Like Kaua coached her, she focused on a point in the distance instead of looking at the audience.

The strapless dress she wore was a classic black, made with layers of different types of lace and velvet with a

smattering of glittering Swarovski stones and a mermaid train.

A golden belt matched the tiara she wore.

With every step she took, stars lit up on the catwalk, which was made of LED panels.

It created the effect of a moon goddess out to inspect her territory.

Darya slowed down as she approached the end of the catwalk, planted her feet, swayed her her weight from one leg to the other, giving the photographers and fashion blogers

ensemble.

The dress, aptly named 'The Moon Goddess,' set off all the flashbulbs in the audience.

It was a show-stopping appearance.

Darya counted a few seconds in her head before fluidly turning back for the return walk.

It took Ryan a while to find his voice. 'She looks...incredible.'

Next to him, Micah was silent.

He didn't hear what Ryan said.

All his mind was on the goddess on the catwalk.

Darya's graceful figure disappeared at the same time as the music ended.

Five seconds later, Harley and Kaua stepped forward and took a bow.

Harley didn't need to look at the fashion bloggers' reactions to know the show was

a success.

The thunderous applause was hint enough.

Still, she breathed out a long sigh of relief.

This was the first time she staged a show featuring entirely her own designs.

Next to her, Kaua was less restrained.

He blew air kisses at the audience and was grinning from ear to ear.

Harley had promised to let him direct all her shows for the next six seasons if he did a good job with this one.

But not everyone was thrilled.

In the last row, Felicia grabbed Regina's arm and gushed about the last dress, 'It's

so gorgeous! The cut, the

fabric, the stars! I must have it! Let's go backstage and talk to the designer. I want

to be the only one who owns

1. it. We have to do it fast!'

In her head, she was already rehearsing how to talk her brother into paying for it.

The dress would make her the star of next week's party.

Regina, on the other hand, was stunned into silence.

When Darya came out the first time, she had to blink twice to make sure she

wasn't seeing things.

She turned to Felicia for confirmation, but Felicia was busy texting her friend and barely paid any attention to

the models.

"Did you see her? Regina mumbled.

"What? Felicia turned back. 'See what?'

The model. The one wearing the moon goddess gown.'

"I was looking at the dress, not the model. Why? Is there something wrong?'

'I think...' Regina looked up, confused. 'I think I saw Darya Miller.'

'No way! Felicia waved a hand, dismissive. 'She can't be here.'

'But I-

'Maybe it's just someone who looks like her,' Felicia stood up, impatient. 'Come

on, let's go backstage. I need to

talk to the designer.'

'Just give me a second.' Regina scanned the crowd for Micah.

She knew he was going to be here tonight, but she didn't know if he actually

showed up.

The place was too dark for her to see.

'Come on!' Felicia seized Regina's wrist and pulled her away. 'You want to know if

the model is Darya, right? We'll go backstage and see for ourselves.'
