Chapter 539
Angela answered with complete composure, staring straight into Seline's eyes.
Seline, on the other hand, was shaking with anger, feeling as if Angela was outright insulting her intelligence.
So, this was the same excuse she had given Hendrix back then? And more importantly, did he actually believe it?
If that was the case, then Seline had truly misjudged Hendrix. It seemed he wasn't a lunatic-he was just a complete fool.
Noelle quickly grabbed Seline's hand. Then, she smiled politely at Angela before turning to leave.
But Angela called out from behind them. "Ms. Swanson, I have something else I'd like to say to you."
"What could you possibly have to say to her?" Seline was the first to turn around. "Who do you think you are? What gives you the right to talk to us!"
"Ms. Swift, I was addressing Ms. Swanson, not you."
"You!" Seline was thoroughly enraged and itching to charge up to Angela and grab her by the hair.
Noelle quickly held her back. She then turned to Angela and said, "If you have something to say, just say it."
"Well, I heard you're going back to Stormridge, is that right?"
"Yes."
"That's great!" Angela smiled. "Thank you for stepping aside. And don't worry. I'll take good care of Hendrix."
"You don't need to thank me," Noelle replied. "As for how you two get along or who takes care of whom, that has nothing to do with me. Similarly, my decision to return to Stormbridge has nothing to do with you, either."
Noelle's light, dismissive words instantly silenced Angela. Without another glance, Noelle pulled Seline away.
Seline, however, was suddenly in high spirits. That's right! That's exactly how you should handle her Noelle, you were amazing! Only now do I truly understand what it means to qutmaneuver someone with minimal effort!"
Noelle glanced at her. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"I'm not talking nonsense! Did you see her face just now? You should let her know that the man she's treating like a treasure isn't even worth a second glance in your eyes!"
Noelle shook her head. "I wasn't trying to argue with her. What I said was simply the truth."
On the way back, Angela asked Hendrix, "Do you think Noelle still loves you?"
The sudden question made Hendrix pause. Then, he slowly turned to look at her.
Angela was staring at him with a serious expression.
"What are you trying to say?"
"I ran into her in the restroom earlier," Angela replied. "She didn't seem to care about my existence at all. I even tried to provoke her, but she didn't react in the slightest."noveldrama
Then, she hesitated but still chose to tell him in the end. "Mr. Freeman, a woman's intuition is usually accurate. And as a woman myself, I can tetty she might really be over you. In other words, she's heartbroken beyond repair."
After Angela finished speaking, Hendrix remained expressionless. But when Angela's gaze drifted downward, she quickly noticed his tightly clenched hands resting on his knees.
"What's the point of telling me all this now?" Hendrix asked her.
Angela detected the tension and sharpness in his voice. To avoid being kicked out of the car, she quickly added, "So, instead of trying to do something to her directly think you'd be better off taking a different approach-like through your child."
What do you think?
