The Sway and Slide of Love

Chapter 537

Seline couldn't help but let out a cold laugh. Then, she asked, "Ms. Rhett, right? I've seen you online before."

"Oh, is that so?" Angela finally turned her attention to Seline, smiling. "So, I take it you're actually a fan of mine?"

Fan? As if Angela would ever be worthy enough to have Seline as a fan.

Seline barely held back the urge to roll her eyes. "I'm not exactly a fan. It just so happened I saw you a few times. But now that I think about it, didn't you have a boyfriend before? Wasn't he your classmate or something?"

"Yes, but we've broken up," Angela admitted freely. "It's not a crime to date around, right? After all, who here doesn't have a past?"

As she spoke, her gaze drifted toward Noelle. It was as if she was telling everyone present that Noelle was Hendrix's "past".

Seline gritted her teeth, about to retort when Noelle gently tugged her hand. This caused her to frown.

Meanwhile, Dylan raised his wine glass and said, "Speaking of which, it's been a while since I've had dinner with you, Mr. Freeman. So, allow me to take this opportunity to toast to you."

Hendrix raised his eyes. After meeting Dylan's gaze for a moment, he chuckled lightly. "Sure."

With that, he also picked up his wine glass. The two men clinked glasses in a perfunctory manner before downing the drinks in one go. After that, neither of them set their glasses down. Instead, they refilled them.

Then, came the second glass and the third.

"What's going on here?" Seline finally caught on. "Are they trying to see who can outdrink the other? How's Dylan's alcohol tolerance?"

Noelle didn't answer. She simply frowned at the scene before her. To be honest, she didn't like what she was seeing. Even though she knew she might not be the sole reason for this display, Seline's immediate assumption made it clear that Noelle was at least part of the equation.

So what? Were they treating her like some prize to be won?

Noelle wanted to intervene, but before she could say anything, Angela suddenly burst into tears. The sound of her sobbing caught everyone off guard.

Seline turned her head sharply. When she saw the tears streaming down Angela's face, she blurted out, "What's this? Is she channeling her inner drama queen?"

Angela didn't seem to have heard Seline's comment. Instead, she reached out with teary eyes and grabbed Hendrix's hand.

"Please stop drinking, okay? You've already got an upset stomach, and it'll only

get worse if you continue. It really pains me to see you like this."

Tears kept falling down her face as she spoke. She looked so delicate and pitiful

-it was the kind of sight that could soften anyone's heart.

And sure enough, Hendrix slowly set his glass down.

Angela's eyes immediately lit up. "You're not going to drink anymore?"

"Yeah."

Angela quickly wiped her tears and poured him a glass of water. "Here. Drink some warm water. Does your stomach hurt? I'll go buy some medicine for you."noveldrama

"No, that won't be necessary," Hendrix said. "I'm not that fragile, so don't worry."

He sounded stiff, but Angela smiled contentedly and sat back down beside him. "That's good. But me know right away if you feel unwell,

okay? I'll be here with you."
