Talented Heiress: A Rose With Thorns

Chapter 834

"Stop!" Martha hurriedly called out to him. "Who said you could leave?"

"Grandma, you know my patience is limited."

"I called you here because I have something to discuss!" Worried that he might really just leave, Martha set aside her anger.

Her expression turned serious as she said, "I don't think your marriage with Yvette is appropriate. Tomorrow, you'll come with me to the Murray family to break off this engagement!"

Before Wilson could respond, Jasper gasped in shock. "What? Grandma, what are you saying? Are you out of your mind? Wilson and Yvette care deeply for each other, and they're perfect for each other—a match made in heaven!"

"Nonsense!" Martha immediately scolded him harshly. "Victoria is the one who's truly worthy of Wilson! They're the real match made in heaven!"

Wilson's gaze grew even darker, his presence exuding a chilling coldness. "It's impossible for me to break off my engagement with Yvie."

"Oh, so now you don't listen to me anymore!" Martha angrily slammed her hand down on the table. "I'm telling you, whether you agree or not, you must break off the engagement!"

"There's no room for negotiation on this," Wilson said, his voice turning icier. "Grandma, please rest well. I'll come back to check on you later."

With that, he turned and walked out of the room without any hesitation.

"Mr. Quinn!"

As soon as Wilson stepped out, the hospital director, who had been waiting by the door, immediately approached him respectfully.

"Is there anything you need?"

Wilson's dark, narrowed eyes glinted coldly. "I want you to find an opportunity to give Grandma a full-body examination."

Hearing this, the director assumed Wilson was concerned about Martha's health and immediately replied with full respect, "Understood, Mr. Quinn!"

Inside the hospital room, watching Wilson leave like that made Martha even angrier, causing her to tremble slightly.

"Grandma, calm down. You shouldn't get upset in your condition!" Jasper hurried forward to comfort her.

marriage at first! When Wilson

wanted to cancel the engagement, you even threatened to break his leg! So why are you suddenly against it now?"

"Shut up and get out!" Martha angrily waved him off. "You're all so disobedient! Looking at you all just irritates me. Get out!"

Seeing her get increasingly upset, Jasper worried about agitating her further and reluctantly left the room.

"Victoria, you're the only one who listens; I like you best!"

With everyone else gone, Victoria dropped her innocent act, her face darkening as she yanked her hand away from Martha, sheddingcall traces of her former sweetness. noveldrama

"Useless! You can't even handle such a simple task! Clearly, this isn't enough. I need to push Wilson even further to make him agree to break off the engagement!"

Her eyes glinted with malice as she increased the dose of the hypnotizing fragrance again, caring little for whether Martha's body could withstand it.

As the familiar, eerie fragrance filled the room, Martha's gaze became even more

vacant. Victoria smirked, leaning in close to whisper in her ear.

"Yes, I understand... I'll do everything as you say..." Martha, with her empty stare, murmured her agreement.

The scene was chillingly bizarre.
