Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1788

He quickly caught on that these two weren't your run-of-the-mill students.

Naturally.

How would regular students know moves like that?

"Look, we're just trying to run a small business here without bothering anyone.

What do you two want with us? If you're looking for a slice of the pie, I can introduce you to some contacts. No need to rough us up like this, right?"

The shop owner felt utterly defeated.

At his age, getting a beating from two barely adult high schoolers was a new low.

This was one life experience he'd rather skip.

"I want to know where your supply comes from and who that contact you mentioned is," Alec said, all business.

The shop owner instantly got on high alert. "You're not a cop, right? If you are, there's nothing for us to talk about! If you're here to arrest me, just go ahead!"

He put on a tough act, ready for whatever came next.

In his line of work, ratting out your supplier might mean a shorter sentence, but it also guaranteed payback later on.

So he'd rather keep his mouth shut; jail might be rough, but at least he'd survive it. "I'm not known for my patience," Alec said coolly. "If you don't spill, I'll make sure you regret it before the cops get their hands on you."

With that, Alec took control of the shop owner's arm from Fiona.

A sharp crack echoed as the shop owner's arm was dislocated in a flash.

Fiona watched, wide-eyed, as if to say, "Seriously, dude?"

Alec had been raised around James and Harold, picking up all their tricks.

For him, this was just another day at the office.

Colby and Sophie were more protective, so they kept Fiona out of these kinds of situations.

"Even if you dislocate my arm, I can't say anything!" the shop owner gritted through clenched teeth.

Talking would ruin his future.

A dislocated arm was one thing; naming his suppliers would mean facing far worse, maybe even a

broken arm, once of jail.

Alec frowned.

As they both wondered what their next move should be, the shop's metal door swung open.

In walked Tricia, her usual polite smile in place, with the local police in tow. "Sorry, everyone, I'm running a bit late."

The shop owner was practically in tears of relief when he saw Tricia and the police.

Not too late, thankfully, although a tad earlier before his arm got dislocated would've been nice.

"Uncle Zhang?"

Fiona blurted out, surprised, "How did you know we were here?"

"Ms. Sophie asked me to keep an

eye on you two," Tricia replied, shaking her head in resignation. "Next time, be more careful before diving in. If you're not sure how to investigate, don't tip off the

O'

suspects."

Alec and I meant well."

Fiona laughed sheepishly. "I was just trying to help out my parents. Uncle Zhang,

Tricia didn't quite know how to respond to Fiona.

Fiona looked confused. "Aren't my

supposed to be checking vendors around the Why aren't they here?"

SE SHE IS supposed to be

aren't they here? et

"Your parents? Why would they come themselves? They've already tracked down the suppliers."noveldrama
