Chapter 283
Carlisle raised his hand and rubbed his numb face, staring at Martha's pleading expression before suddenly letting out a laugh. "I never expected that you'd still send someone to follow me at your age."
Carlisle sat back down. His emotions were carefully concealed, but his gaze was as deep and endless as an abyss.
With a smile, he continued, "I asked Katrina to move out and have some space to cool off. After all, you know I'm not planning to divorce her. And since you've always opposed Shirley marrying into our family, I can guarantee you today that I will never marry Shirley..."noveldrama
Carlisle's smile faded, and he leaned forward. "However, you need to help me convince Katrina to come back and let go of the idea of divorce. This is something you owe me."
He stood up, straightening his suit. Seeing Martha's sour expression, he gave a nonchalant grin. "If you can't do that, then I can't promise I won't do something drastic. After all, you know my temperament.
"I'll get what I want, even if it means resorting to any means necessary. If it means ruining her, I won't let her leave my side. Even if I have to burn everything to the ground, I'll have what I want."
With that, Carlisle walked toward the door.
Just as his hand touched the doorknob, Martha sighed and asked, "Is this really about you liking Katrina, or is it because she looks like—"
Carlisle froze, slowly turning around to shoot her a cold, emotionless look.
The look in his eyes was freezing.
Martha's words choked in her throat. She didn't dare continue. Carlisle gave her one final icy glance before turning back to the door and walking out.
The door slammed shut with a loud thud, and Martha slumped onto the couch, as if all her energy had drained away.
A flicker of regret passed across Martha's face as she closed her eyes. "What have I done..."
After finishing up his tasks and giving John some instructions, Wren drove back to the hospital. He knocked on the door of the patient's room but didn't hear a response.
After a moment's hesitation, he gently pushed the door open and stepped inside.
As soon as he entered, he saw Clara

Clara was sound asleep. The soft, warm light from the dim lamp cast a gentle glow on her face.
A small, tender smile unconsciously spread across Wren's lips as he gazed at her for a moment. He

What do you think?
