Chapter 103: Kakashi = Dog
Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Kakashi = Dog
*Thud... thud... thud!*
"Hikari, you awake?"
*Thud... thud... thud!*
"Hikari, time to wake up and pee!"
*Thud... thud... thud!*
"Hikari—"
*Crash!*
Just as Kakashi was about to knock again, a fist burst through the door, stopping mere millimeters from his face.
Kakashi’s Inner Monologue: At that moment, the fist was only 0.01 centimeters away from my handsome face. ust that tiny bit closer, and my flawless looks would’ve been ruined. Thankfully, fate was kind, sparing me such a tragedy.
*Crack!*
Hikari pulled his fist back, his eyes burning with the fury from being woken up at such an ungodly hour.
"Kakashi, if you disturb me again, I’ll be burning paper at your grave this time next year."
Gulp.
A bead of cold sweat slid down Kakashi’s face.
"Uh, I just wanted to invite you to enjoy the fresh morning air and greet the start of a beautiful day!" Kakashi quickly fabricated an excuse before taking a step back. "Since you’re awake now, I’ll be going!"
With that, he immediately used the Body Flicker Technique, vanishing from the hallway.
Hikari turned around and trudged back to his bed.
One... two... three.
Collapse.
Sleep.
---
Konoha Main Gate.
"Kakashi-senpai!" Yamato spotted Hatake Kakashi and waved at him cheerfully.
Though Yamato’s expression remained stoic, his body language radiated warmth.
"Morning, Yamato!"
Beside him, Shiranui Genma and Yamashiro Aoba exchanged exasperated glances.
(Yep, guess we’re just background characters as usual.)
"Kakashi-senpai is up early too."
"Well, now that we’re all here, let’s head out!" Kakashi gave Genma and Aoba a slight nod, acknowledging their presence.
"Sure thing. You seem oddly excited today, Kakashi-senpai." Yamato muttered before turning to leave.
Hearing that, Kakashi touched his mask thoughtfully.
Was it really that obvious?
---
Hatake Residence.
Kamizuki Hikari opened his eyes, devoid of any vitality, desperately trying to fall back asleep.
But after Kakashi’s rude awakening, sleep had abandoned him entirely.
’I should’ve beaten him up earlier instead of holding back.’
Giving up, he dragged himself out of bed and freshened up.
Twenty minutes later, he arrived at Training Ground 10 with breakfast in hand. It wasn’t even 6:30 AM yet.
Gazing at the crimson dawn, Hikari silently cursed Kakashi with all his heart.
’Kakashi, may you stay a single dog forever! Go have a lifetime bromance with Gai!’ noveldrama
*Step! Step! Step!*
Footsteps approached. Hikari turned to see two green-clad figures in the distance—Maito Gai and his disciple, Rock Lee. Trailing behind them were the elegant Hyūga Neji and the adorable Tenten with her twin buns.
’No way. Did I just awaken a wish fulfillment superpower?!’
"Yo, Hikari! You’re up early today!" Maito Gai greeted him energetically, jogging in circles around him.
Lee mimicked his teacher’s enthusiasm.
Hikari was already used to their antics.
"All thanks to that bastard Kakashi. Should’ve stayed at an inn yesterday."
"Then why didn’t you come to my place?" Gai asked, puzzled. "It’s quiet where I live. If you’d come—"
"Absolutely not!" Hikari cut him off immediately.
No way in hell.
Joking aside, Gai’s place was remote for a reason—he was too loud. Always training at odd hours, living there would drive Hikari to a nervous breakdown.
"Such a shame. You came to my place once and never returned." Gai sighed regretfully, oblivious to Neji’s disdainful expression.
Though Gai was his teacher and treated him well, that didn’t mean Neji had to embrace all of Gai’s eccentricities—like the bright green tracksuits or his spontaneous training frenzies.
Honestly, only Lee could keep up with that kind of madness.
"I’d feel bad imposing on you all the time." Hikari brushed him off. "You guys go train. I won’t hold you up. See ya!"
"Hikari, you seem like you don’t enjoy seeing me. Young people should be full of passion—this lethargy won’t do!" Gai tried to lecture him, but Hikari suddenly bolted toward the restroom.
"Ah, my stomach hurts! Gotta go! Bye!"
Gai paused, watching Hikari’s swift retreat, and nodded meaningfully.
"As expected of my friend Hikari! Even his running form is magnificent!"
Neji felt his Byakugan nearly activate out of sheer disbelief.
’What the heck?! Sensei, are you serious? That’s just normal running! This level of bias is ridiculous!’
He felt like, one of these days, his Byakugan would awaken into a Tenseigan from sheer rage, and he’d present Gai with the Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack!
"Gai-sensei is right! Life is full of profound lessons!" Tenten giggled, her eyes lingering on Hikari’s back.
Being able to see Hikari-senpai during morning training, even without speaking—that alone brought her joy.
True feelings start with chance encounters.
(Meanwhile, the background trio—Gai, Lee, and Neji—silently move on.)
"Tenten, ignite your passion!" Gai flashed a thumbs-up, his teeth gleaming.
"We’ve only completed a third of today’s training, and we’ve already wasted five minutes here! To make up for it, we must push harder!"
Tenten nodded eagerly. "Don’t worry, Gai-sensei! I’ll give it my all!"
Neji’s Inner Despair: Tenten, you’re Tenten! Not Lee! Don’t get swept up in this hot-blooded nonsense!
"YOUTH, BURN BRIGHTLY! Gai-sensei, my blood is boiling!" Lee’s face flushed red as if he’d chugged ten energy drinks.
"Let’s charge toward our goal!" Gai dashed ahead.
"I won’t fall behind! Eight Gates Release: Gate of Opening—OPEN!" Lee’s speed doubled as he chased after Gai.
"My youth won’t let me fall behind!" Tenten took one last glance at the restroom before stomping the ground and propelling herself forward.
Only Neji remained, staring at the sky in utter resignation.
’Tenten was the last normal one in this team. Now I’m alone. Heavens, why must you forsake me?!’
