too late for a second chance novel (Lila and Dorian)

Chapter 492

Lila was chatting with Amelia on the other side.

"So, Morgan Group hasn't fully recovered yet, but things are slowly getting back on track." Amelia mused, then sighed. "Uncle Kieran really is something else."

Lila wasn't entirely sure either. "I think so... I just don't know how long it'll take."

"Don't worry about it. If he was confident enough to turn down an arranged marriage, then he must have a plan. Speaking of which, what do you think about Faith?"

Lila was perplexed. "What do you mean?"

"The whole marriage thing. Do you think she'll actually give up?"

"She's the type who carries herself with a sense of superiority, so she doesn't strike me as someone who would cling desperately. Things have already reached this point—I doubt there'll be any more trouble from her."

Amelia hesitated for a moment before asking, "Are you sure you're not being a little too naive?"

Before Lila could respond, she suddenly noticed something. "Wait... where did my ribbon go?" she asked, glancing down at her sleeve, which now looked oddly incomplete.

Amelia was easily sidetracked. "Huh? I think it was still there earlier. Maybe it got caught on something when you went to the bathroom."

"It's fine. It wasn't that important anyway." As soon as her words fell, a shadow fell over Lila. She looked up and met Kieran's gaze.

He had a few drinks and had a slight buzz. He reached out, cupping her cheek gently. "It's late. We should head home."

Amelia checked the time. "It's barely 8:30 pm. That's not late at all! Stay a bit longer."

Kieran chuckled. "We have plans for later."

"What plans?" Amelia asked.

Lila, on the other hand, immediately caught on and rose to her feet. "Right! I'm exhausted. We should go. Ame, don't stay out too late-have Vince pick you up later!"

"I don't need him to pick me up! You two go ahead! I'm going to hang out with Landon for a bit!" she shot back.

Lila nodded and reached for Kieran's warm hand, intertwining their fingers as they left. The couple got back to their place and went straight to the bedroom.

The moment the door shut, Kieran pressed her against it. Lila looked up at him,

her expression solemn. "Were you the one who took my ribbon?"

"Are you talking about this?" He lifted his wrist, revealing the sheer pink ribbon wrapped around it. Letting go of her, he slowly unraveled it with his long fingers, the delicate fabric sliding smoothly over his pale skin.

For some reason, watching the soft pink ribbon entwined between his fingers

gave Lila... certain thoughts. Thoughts that were definitely not appropriate.

It wasn't until he looped the ribbon

ov

around her own wrist that she realized something was off. "Kieran Lila was already wrapped in his arms, making it difficult to move. In a small voice, she murmured, "Let's... take this to the bed."

Kieran cocked his brow. "And what exactly do you plan to do there?"

Lila pursed her lips, her beautiful eyes narrowing at him. He was definitely doing

this on purpose. Still, he chuckled, scooping her up effortlessly and carrying her to the bed.

The moonlight outside spilled into the room casting a silver glow across everything. Her arms were wrapped around his neck when he rammed into her, her breath Bitching as she whispered, "It hurts!"

Her voice was barely audible. Kieran stilled, his thumb brushing away the single tear that slipped down her cheek. He had been too impatient. He hadn't considered that this was her first time.

Slowly, she adjusted. and then, like a rising tide, the sensations overwhelmed her, carrying her away completely. When it was all over, Lila was too exhausted to even lift a finger.

Kieran filled the bathtub before carrying her inside.

"I can wash myself..."

He chuckled, his voice low and indulgent. "Do you even have the strength to?"noveldrama
