The Silent 722
Seeing this, Sophie strode forward in quick steps, seized Pate's chin in a tight grip, and forced him to face her directly.
The moment Sophie turned his face and saw his features, her mind reeted with shock.
Sophie stared in disbelief. "You?! No way. It can't be you! What are you doing here now?"
The face revealed by the corpse puppet was identical to Rale's, and by extension,
it bore an uncanny resemblance to Sophie as well.
The moment Sophie saw that face, it all came back to her.
The shock didn't come from Rafe's uncanny resemblance to her, but from his sudden appearance here.
In her previous life, he never once returned to the Duke's estate.
Sophie's eyes widened in shock. "So it's you! You're his bastard, no wonder... no wonder you'd turn against us.
"What are you doing here?" Just as "Sophie" stood frozen in shock, a familiar voice, laced with displeasure, suddenly rang out from the doorway.
Sophie turned to find Gabriel standing there, his expression dark and tense, his eyes fixed on her with a strange, suspicious intensity.
Gabriel snapped, “What on earth were you doing at the Marquis's estate? Do you have any idea how long I have been looking for you? Where have you been these past few days, and why are you only coming back now?"
He continued, "And the moment you return, you rush straight to Shiverhall, not even bothering to let me know you're safe. You're becoming more and more disrespectful!"
Gabriel was in a foul mood, firing off a rapid barrage of questions at Sophie, not giving her a chance to catch her breath.
Sophie was at a loss for how to respond.
She not the real Sophie who used to inhabit this body, not at all. She didn't have a single memory of her past.
What she did, where she had been, or why she ended up in the Henderson family's underground chamber, she had no clue about any of it.
However, then she noticed something glaringly obvious. Her father actually still didn't know that the real Sophie was dead.
Sophie hesitated for a moment.noveldrama
She'd planned to tell Gabriel right away when she got back. After all, coming back from the dead wasn't something anyone could hide.
She hadn't expected her father to be completely in the dark about it.
So, if he didn't know, then it was probably smarter to keep a few secrets to herself.
Having lived two lifetimes, Sophie understood far better than the Sophie of this life just how cold and heartless Gabriel truly was.
Better to keep some cards up her sleeve than to reveal everything.
After all, as long as she kept quiet, neither the Henderson family nor Isabelle, the
main suspects in her murder, would ever say a word about it either.
Other than that, she doubted many people actually knew she died.
Since Isabelle had stabbed Sophie in the back in her previous life, and she had just emerged from the Henderson family's underground chamber, Sophie instinctively assumed the Hendersons were behind her murder.-
As for Eliza, Sophie never even gave her a second thought. To Sophie, Eliza was
still the pitiful nobody she'd toyed with in their p s life. Even if she

got a second chance, that girl wouldn't dare touch her.
She'd probably end up groveling before their father and brothers, begging to be accepted again. Sophie was so certain. Eliza might wear the Padilla narra now, but she'd always be the same worthless girl, no matter how many chances life gave her.
Sophie's eyes grew red as she looked up at Gabriel, voice trembling. “Father, I don't know what happened. Someone attacked me from behind, everything went black. When I woke up, I was back in my room, not at the Marquis's estate. I swear, I didn't do anything."
