Chapter 2641
Frank laughed in amusement at the undertaker's words. "You've watched too much TV, haven't you? Do you think that the righteous are always righteous?
"When it comes down to it, if I show you mercy, wouldn't it be a torment to the souls of those whom you've killed on a whim? Their pain is much greater than yours-why else would souls need repose?"
The undertaker could not argue against that, as he realized that Frank was right.
Even righteousness should be applied on a case-by-case basis. And against villains like the undertaker himself, it was ideal to punish him within the confines of what was acceptable.
"You've really shown me something new. I really didn't expect someone like you to exist!"
The undertaker sighed. "Alright, I give up, though I must say it's not embarrassing to lose to you. I've not only lost to you in ability, even my insight dulls in comparison. You really have both virtue and strength.
"Anyway, in three days, he will be..."
A minute later, Janice arrived and inadvertently stumbled upon a scene she would remember for life.
The pompous undertaker had been pulverized, with his remains strewn all over.noveldrama
Janice was so terrified her knees buckled, and she would have dropped to the floor if Frank had not caught her in time.
Even so, he asked rhetorically, "Nice?"
Janice sighed in exasperation, thought she realized that Frank must have super hearing and knew she was coming.
That meant he deliberately showed her this.
Fortunately, she was not a drama queen and knew that Frank had done this for her sake.
After all, she vowed to become the head of her family. There was no way she could do it by being ignorant and without getting her hands dirty.
"It's alright," she said. "I'll try to stand on my own."
Frank smiled and let go, but just as he had expected, Janice had overestimated herself.
She started to teeter backward as soon as he let go, but he was prepared and caught her, or she would have hit the hard concrete floor.
"A-Am I that much of a coward?" she stammered.
Frank smiled, shaking his head. "Not really-the way I see it, you've far surpassed the rest!"
However, Janice could read enough about Frank to see that he was trying to console her, and she smiled. "That was a failure, but failure doesn't last forever. I'm sure I'll definitely fix this."
Frank nodded. "I believe you."
After Janice composed herself, she told Frank, "My aunt will be here soon. Let's wait for her at a hotel."
"Sure."
Frank soon arrived at the only local business hotel with Janice.
While it was far flung, the price tag on food and everything else was surprisingly expensive.
Even Janice could not help complaining, "Is this stuff made of gold? Why is it so expensive?"
"It's a business hotel." Frank
shrugged, smiling. "You get to flaunt your status! Also, I won't lie-the food is actually good and organic. That alone makes it far better than the fake stuff in the city."
"How'd you know?" Janice asked in curiosity.
Before Frank could respond, she chuckled in embarrassment and muttered under her breath, "Right, if you could hear footsteps from miles away, you'd definitely could identify the scent of different food.
Then, she asked, "Is it possible that you're able to handle more pain than the average person? After all, while
your super senses enhance yourn?
observational abilities, you'd also have to deal with constant noise and stink."
What do you think?
