The CEO’s Hidden Love Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires

Chapter 1732

Craig had always been the quiet type-never the first to jump into a conversation, and definitely not the guy to make a big scene.

But ever since his career started to finally take off, he found himself surrounded by all kinds of women. Some were subtle, some were bold, but they just kept coming.

And it wasn't just the women. Old friends, former coworkers, even new business partners-once they learned he was divorced, they'd always try to set him up.

If it was just a friend, it was easy enough to brush off. But sometimes, they'd go as far as introducing their own sisters. That's when things got really awkward for Craig.

So, he started telling everyone he already had a girlfriend. One simple lie, and it saved him a world of headaches-no more coming up with excuses or trying to politely decline.

Aurora hadn't expected any of this. To her, it made sense that after being divorced for so long, Craig might want to start dating again.

"Before I met you, marriage wasn't even on my radar," Craig said quietly, avoiding her gaze. "I was just a broke guy with a sick mom. I figured nobody deserved to get stuck with me, so I never even thought about settling down. You know that."noveldrama

Aurora remembered how long she'd chased after Craig, convincing him to even give things a shot together.

"And after you finally became my girlfriend, I just wanted to work even harder, save up, maybe get us a little house or apartment-something real. If things got better, I wanted to marry you."

"But then I found out you were from the Lopez family... and, well, I started feeling like I'd never be good enough."

Back then, Craig was a mess. The decision to break up had cost him countless sleepless nights.

Even now, after all the years since their split, talking about it left Aurora with a tangled mess of feelings she couldn't quite name.

She turned away, not meeting his eyes. "The past is the past, Craig. There's no point talking about it now."

"I know I messed up..."

"Craig." Aurora cut him off, her voice calm but firm. "That doesn't matter anymore. Please, just go."

Back then, she'd held on for as long as she could, burning through every last ounce of hope before finally choosing divorce.

No matter what happened between them now, no matter how much they talked it out, there was no going back.

"Why?" Craig blurted, grabbing her wrist before he could stop himself. "Is it because... you've found someone else?"

"What does it matter, Craig? You're not seriously thinking we'd get back together, are you?"

Aurora pulled her hand free. "Whatever's going on in my life, it's none of your business anymore. You're my ex-husband. That's all."

He fell silent.

"The only thing tying us together is Elijah," Aurora continued. "And, like I said when we divorced, I'll never keep you from seeing your son. You'll@lways be his dad, and nothing can change that. But you and me? That's over. For good."

Aurora figured she'd done her part as an ex-wife-never bad-mouthing Craig to anyone, not even when her friends or family brought him up. She always tried to be fair.

As for getting back together? That thought had never once crossed her mind.

That's just how Aurora was. She

"I get it," Craig said softly. "I just wanted you to know—no matter what happens,

No one else could ever take her place.
