Chapter 746
She didn't say a word. Sleeping with Jackson had been a total impulse-she wasn't the kind of woman who hopped into bed just because a guy was good- looking.
She just hadn't expected to end up with someone she really shouldn't have touched.
Now, feeling the heat still simmering in his gaze, she figured it was better to play it cool and keep things simple.
"There were a few before you, Jackson," she shrugged, voice light and breezy. "But honestly? Got bored with them just like I'm getting bored with you."
Jackson's expression turned stormy. "You do realize there are consequences for saying things like that?"
She turned and grinned at him, unbothered. “I'm just being straight with you. You didn't actually think you were the only one, did you? We're all adults here. People have needs. As long as everyone's careful, it's no big deal. And don't tell me you were a saint before that night, Jackson. Not at your age."
Jackson stared at her, thinking that mouth of hers was made for kissing, not talking.
He reached out, pulling her in for a kiss before she could protest.
Kaitlyn's eyes widened in surprise. "You—!"
Before she could finish, Jackson shoved open the door of the private room,
pushed her inside, and pinned her against the dark wall.
“Bored, huh? Funny, because your body tells a different story."
She glared, struggling in his hold. "Someone could walk in here any minute. Let go."
He scoffed. "You think I won't call you out, just because you're a woman?"
Realizing she might've pushed him too far, Kaitlyn tried to dial it back. "Jackson, I'm just being honest. We're friends with benefits, nothing more. I never promised you exclusivity, and I've never asked about your love life either."
He moved closer, his knee pressing between her thighs, fingers gripping her chin.
What was it about her? Even her face was exactly his type.
He went quiet for a moment, then finally asked, "Ever thought about divorcing your husband?"
Her lashes fluttered. She replied quickly, "I love my husband. I'm not planning on leaving him. Things are good between us."
He laughed, thumb stroking her chin, eyes sharp. "You love him, but you're sneaking around with me?"
"Love and sex aren't always the same thing, Jackson. We're grown-ups. Don't pretend you don't get that."
He leaned in, his lips brushing her ear. "Kaitlyn, are you lying to me? You think I get clingy, so you're pretending you won't leave him? ve run into you plenty of times and never once seen your husband. Are you really even married?" noveldrama
Her heart gave a little jump. "Jackson, we barely see each other. Maybe next time, you'll get to meet him."
Jackson raised an eyebrow, then
leaned down and kissed her again, this time until her eyes shone. He
angled her face toward the mirret
the wall, where light from the hallway caught her flushed cheeks and soft eyes.

He tilted her chin up. "You look like this and want me to believe you're bored?
Looks to me like you miss me more than you want to admit."
Kaitlyn frowned. Jackson really was hard to handle.
A total flirt-three years overseas clearly hadn't calmed him down at all.
She dropped her gaze, trying to pull away from his hand, but he let go first, sliding his hands to her waist instead.
"How about we go for round two, right here?"
"Don't you care about the woman waiting at home for you? Isn't that kind of sad for her?" she shot back.
Jackson's face changed in an instant, eyes going cold and sarcastic.
"That woman? Why would I care? I can't wait to get rid of her."
She stayed quiet.
Maybe realizing he'd said too much, Jackson looked down at her, about to kiss her again—when she cut in "My husband and I are actually. getting divorced. We'll finalize everything soon. If you're stilb

His eyes lit up, surprised by how quickly she'd switched gears.
"Seriously?"
She gave him a slow smile, arms slipping around his neck. "Dead serious."
What do you think?
