Chapter 855
Yvette maintained her nonchalance and calmly walked out of the car before casting a condescending glance at the group of men dressed in black.
"Did you guys say you want to teach me a lesson? What makes you think you have what it takes to do that?" Yvette sounded extremely arrogant.
The group of men were beside themselves with rage, and their expressions were as black as night. "How dare you look down on us, asshole?"
"Let her have it, Branson. Make sure she understands the cost of crossing us."
Yvette scanned the men from head to toe, and her rosy lips curled into a sneer. She snorted in mild annoyance. "You guys should just come at me together." What she said was exceedingly humiliating for the group of men.
"You fucking asked for it, asshole! Get her, boys. Teach her a lesson she will never forget!"
One of Yvette's guards, who was hiding somewhere discreet, saw what happened and immediately said anxiously, "There are so many of them, Mr. Galanis. Ms. Murray is vastly outnumbered. How is she supposed to defeat them? We should show ourselves and keep her safe."
Wilson cherished Yvette the most. If she were harmed in the slightest, they would all face a world of trouble.
Ever since they returned to Yenosha, Wilson appointed Apollo to protect Yvette in secret. She was aware that Wilson did this out of concern for her. Thus, she simply allowed Apollo to do his job.
However, she had a rule. Apollo was to hold back and avoid intervening in her personal matters unless she gave them the okay.
"Ms. Murray hasn't given the order. More to the point, you just don't know her well enough. None of those men pose a threat to her."
After all, Yvette was the lady who blew up Shadow Alliance's casino. Apollo was no match for her, let alone these random street thugs.
The guard who voiced out earlier didn't quite believe Apollo's words. "But Ms. Murray looks like a fragile and vulnerable lady, Mr. Galanis. There's no way she could defeat this many men and-"
Before he could finish his sentence, he realized that Yvette had already whacked all of her opponents to the ground.
The guard was at a loss for words. Was he hallucinating? It had only been less than five minutes, and Yvette had already defeated them all. That was nothing short of badass!
Yvette halfheartedly dusted off her palms as she instructed coldly, "Come out and clean this mess up."
Apollo heard the command and moved as fast as he could before stopping in front of her. He greeted her respectfully and proceeded to direct his men to hog-tie the men dressed in black.
"I brought your friend over as well, Ms. Murray."noveldrama
Madison had already regained her consciousness. The moment she saw Yvette, she darted over. "Thank God you're fine, Yvie. That scared me half to death."
The deceitful old man was securely tied and brought back as well. He noticed that Yvette was unharmed and observed the injuries on each of the masked men dressed in black. All of them looked ashen and resigned.
The old man's legs immediately gave way. At the next moment, he was kneeling before Yvette. "They had me lure you over here, young lady. I didn't have a
choice, either. Please spare me!"
Madison chimed in hastily, "You can't let him off the hook that easily, Yvie. He isn't a good person at all."
Yvette responded, "Don't worry. I knew the kind of person he was from the very beginning."
The old man might've had a friendly appearance, but the cunning in his eyes betrayed him. It didn't take Yvette long to realize that this wasn't his first scam. She wasn't about to let him off without repercussions.
Madison cocked her head to the side. "How did you know, Yvie?"
Yvette explained casually and coldly, "If he had run into trouble, he would've sought help from the police instead of someone weaker than him. That said, he asked for our assistance.
"Moreover, he wouldn't take the money you offered him. Then, he wanted to take us to a certain place. He obviously had ulterior motives.
"People like him exploit the kindness others show. So, you have to keep this in mind, Madison. If you run into similar situations in the future, you have to call the police and let them handle it."
If an ordinary civilian fell for the scam, they would've been forced to resign themselves to a sinister fate.
What do you think?
