Chapter 1193
Henry's dad and his other godfather had to wrestle Henry's little hands open before his dad finally managed to snag the "toy" from him.
Henry burst into tears, his little face flushed with frustration.
The pistol ended up with Andre, who quickly removed the magazine and was shocked to see it fully loaded. A cold sweat broke out on him as he looked at his inconsolably crying son.
Andre handed the pistol over to Asher and then picked up Henry. For a moment, he was tempted to scold him, but realized it wouldn't do any good.
Everyone around could suddenly sympathize with the constant anxiety Andre lived under. Asher and Teddy decided they'd pass on the idea of being Henry's godfather.
As Andre, holding his tearful son, was leaving, all four friends waved him off, saying, "Andre, your godson's a handful. From now on, we'll just send the holiday gifts your way. It's probably best we don't meet up too often-it's a bit too risky."
Andre was left speechless.
Sitting in the car, Henry grew sadder thinking about it. He hadn't even had a chance to play with the gun before it was taken away.
Picking up his wife, Mia, from the library, she noticed her little crybaby, "Sweetheart, why are you crying again?"
"Daddy did it," Henry tattled.
Mia looked at her husband, "Why are you always picking on our son?"
Andre gritted his teeth, "He grabbed Asher's pistol."
"Just buy Asher another one, no big deal."
"That was a real gun, loaded and ready to go!" Andre was fuming, feeling helpless against the irrational situation.
Mia was worried, "Maybe we should sneak him off to boarding school? I can't live with this stress every day."
Henry was so upset that his neck turned red as he threw a tantrum in the car.
With no other choice, the parents stopped by a toy store on their way home and bought a toy gun to appease their little troublemaker.
Once home, Hansen saw his teary-eyed grandson and, noticing the toy gun, said, "Already playing with toy guns, huh? Come on, let's watch some superhero shows."
So, for a while, instead of cartoons, Henry sat on his grandpa's lap, playing with his toy gun and
watching superhero shovel
on TV.
He got so hooked that every day when his dad came home, Henry would point the toy gun and shout, "Bang!"
Andre was exasperated, "Thinking of shooting your old man?"
Hugging Henry turned into a playful spanking, but the little guy just laughed with glee.
At bedtime, after a long day for both parents, they still played along with Henry's antics in bed.
With his baby voice, Henry went, "Bang!"
Both parents pretended to play dead on the bed, and then Henry, thrilled, would crawl over the covers to declare the play over.
Andre told his son, "Henry, guns are for the bad guys, never aim at your own family."
Henry listened, not quite understanding, then snuggled up to his dad to sleep.
Meanwhile, Conner was enjoying life etnoveldrama
in Havenbrook, whistling as he flipped through wedding photo albums, wonder what Annie would like, something forest-themed, simple and fresh, maybe sexy, or perhaps a vintage mansion vibe?"
His assistant asked, "Boss, does Ms. Annie know you're looking at wedding photos?"
"Not yet, why?"
The assistant hesitated, "Has Ms. Annie agreed to marry you?"
"Not yet, what's your point?"
The assistant, fearing the boss's reaction, kept quiet.
Conner kept browsing, even chatting with a sales associate at the studio, "Sir,
have you set a date for the big day?"
What do you think?
