Chapter 266
Chapter 266:
“I don’t care,” I snapped. “Bring Jason out. Now.”
Thane’s eyes narrowed, but he complied. Moments later, Jason appeared with his pregnant wife, Stephanie, at his side. Seeing him made my blood boil. He dared to have a family while trying to trap Jasmine? His gaze met Jasmine’s, something flickering in his eyes—regret or guilt—but it didn’t matter. The damage was done.
“You didn’t reject her properly,” I said, my voice ice-cold. “You tied her to you, knowing she was mine.”
Jason paled. Stephanie clutched his arm, confusion in her eyes. His voice trembled.
“You’re misunderstanding—”noveldrama
“I understand perfectly,” I cut him off. “You tried to trap her. That ends now.” I turned to Jasmine. “Accept his rejection. It’s time.”
She hesitated for a moment, then lifted her chin, her voice steady.
“I, Jasmine, accept your rejection.”
Jason staggered back, pain etched on his face as the bond broke. Stephanie’s eyes widened in horror. Before anyone could react, I moved. My dagger flashed, and I plunged it into Jason’s chest.
He fell to his knees, eyes wide in disbelief before collapsing. Blood spread across his shirt, dark and final.
Luna Anna’s scream shattered the silence, but I didn’t care. She was part of this rot. Let her rage.
I turned to Jasmine, her eyes locked on Jason’s lifeless body. Her face was pale, her hands trembling. I reached out, my fingers brushing hers.
“It’s over,” I whispered.
She nodded, her voice soft. “Yeah. It’s over.”

But as we walked away, a hollow feeling settled in my chest. The scars Jason left wouldn’t heal easily. I had delivered justice, but it didn’t erase the damage.
We didn’t look back. This place and its ghosts were behind us now. In the car, I took her hand. She didn’t pull away. Her fingers curled into mine, a spark of hope in the darkness.
This was just the start of her healing. And I’d be there every step of the way.
Jasmine was out cold by the time we got back to the pack. I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding. For once, things felt… balanced. Jason would be six feet under, where he belonged. Ace was finally quiet, and for the first time in forever, there wasn’t a storm raging in my head.
But then, her soft whimpers hit my ears, and just like that, my stomach twisted. Was she crying for him?
My thoughts flashed to when she had confessed about the fact that she was hoping for Jason to come back. Fuck this! My heart had shattered beyond fixing. Heartbreak, they say, is the cruelest teacher—breaking you open to truths you never wanted to learn—but to me, it’s worse.
No, it was worse than death. I can’t picture a world without Jasmine in it—her smile, her soft body, her voice. How she laughed, how she tempted me, how she played the seductress. Fuck no!
I glanced at her face, peaceful in sleep, her dark lashes brushing against her cheeks. Fuck. She was probably dreaming about that bastard. The one I killed with my own two hands. The one I had to kill, no matter how much it wrecked her. I would have been a coward if I let him keep breathing.
I wasn’t the Lycan Alpha for laughs and handshakes. Everyone knew who I was: ruthless, calculated, and unyielding. But seeing her like this? It poked at something I wasn’t ready to name.
I carefully lifted her out of the car, cradling her like the precious thing she was. Her body curled instinctively into me, her warmth searing through my clothes. Ace growled with satisfaction, the possessive need rolling off him in waves. The feel of her soft curves against my chest was pure torture. My mind spiraled into places it shouldn’t have.
