After receiving the invitation letter, Hoyt wasted no time in reaching out to Melany. He snapped a photo of the envelope and sent it to her with a carefully crafted message:

“Colton, I need to talk to you about something.”

But Melany wasn’t about to be dismissed so easily. She stepped inside, closed the door behind her, and walked up to his desk.

“Colton, we haven’t had a proper conversation in ages. Are you going to treat me like this forever? Don’t forget I’m pregnant now. If something happens to the baby…”

“Colton, don’t treat me like an enemy. I’m not here to make a fuss.” Melany reached into her pocket and retrieved a photo she had saved.

“I heard that Fabian Morgan, the CEO of Aröme Tower, is coming to Ontdale. He’ll be hosting a birthday party in a few days.”

“I have a friend who’s willing to pass along his invitation since he can’t make it,” Melany remarked, handing her phone over.

She made no mention of Hoyt.
