Chapter 3825 Ingratitude Personified
Nathan's ears were filled with the relentless sound of footsteps. Soon, he found himself surrounded by figures emerging from their long concealment. The elites of Adrune, who had been hidden before, now made their presence known.
Nathan, maintaining a composed demeanor but with eyes reflecting deep disappointment, stared at Bryon, who was protected by bodyguards in the distance, and spoke with a touch of irony. "I aimed for the stars, only to fall into a pit."
Having triumphed in the divine realm, resolved Earth's peril, and ascended to the throne as the God King, Nathan could have disregarded Earth. Yet, he always felt connected to his earthly origins, striving to apply Divine Realm technology for Earth's improvement. Ironically, his efforts were seen as futile by others.
Furthermore, despite his contributions to Earth, he was still seen as a major threat, with many seeking his elimination for their own peace.
As a result, any connection between Earth and the Divine Realm was severed, with strength becoming the only judge of truth.
In that moment, Nathan's expression became impassive and detached, embodying the emotionless nature of the God King.
His gaze upon the crowd resembled a monarch scrutinizing insignificant ants.
Among the elites like Wolfric, Nathan's icy stare instilled such fear that they recoiled. His single look sent thousands of formidable beings retreating in fear.
Only after retreating did they realize their reaction, their faces turning red with shame.
Wolfric, red-faced and agitated, stepped forward, challenging Nathan's gaze. With a voice mixing defiance and vulnerability, he accused, "Nathan, we thought you were a human, but it turns out that you're not. You're of a foreign race. You infiltrated us, exploited Earth, and conquered the Divine Realm. What were your true motives?"noveldrama
He continued, "If you surrender and confess, relinquishing the Divine Realm to us, we might show leniency."
The crowd of elites echoed this demand, urging Nathan to surrender for a chance at mercy. "Surrender immediately and confess to your crimes. Perhaps you may be granted leniency."
Seated comfortably in a chair, Nathan gazed at the assembly before him, his expression a mix of icy detachment and mocking amusement. In this moment, the complete lack of shame in their faces became strikingly apparent to him. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he remarked, "If one seeks to blame, they'll always find a reason."
He reminded them, "When the
vampires unleashed chaos, and the formidable Patriarch Herod emerged
from his slumber, you all found
yourselves engulfed in pandemonium, as the vampires' relentless assault led to the downfall of countless minor states and kingdoms, one after another, leaving even the mightiest nations trembling in fear. Have you forgotten the individual who bravely stood up during that dire period, who single-handedly vanquished Herod, led the charge against the vampires, and steered you away from an abyss of despair?"
The room fell into a profound silence following his statement.
With a chilling laugh, Nathan continued, "After those events, the Gods descended with overwhelming might, intent on subjugating the Earth. Have you forgotten who it was that rallied you and repelled the Gods' invasion?"
Without waiting for a response,
Nathan pressed on, "The Divine Realm, relentless in its pursuit, continued to harbor ambitions of Earth's annihilation. They engineered the God's Punisher Spaceship, a weapon designed to exact their revenge on mankind. At that point, I advocated for launching a
preemptive attack, yet my adhet
found no favor among you
Ultimately, it was I who embarked on a journey to space, accompanied by my vampires and a group of allies who shared my vision. It was we who triumphantly subdued Medille, brought tranquility to the Divine Realm, and thwarted the looming calamity that had endangered Earth. Have you all forgotten about this?"
Nathan's eyes methodically scanned the room, lingering on each person from Wolfric to Catherine, scrutinizing their reactions.
As his gaze challenged them, some averted their eyes in evident guilt, while others met his stare with unwavering determination.
With a deliberate tone, Nathan addressed them, "No, you haven't forgotten. The truth is, you simply no longer need a hero. Once the danger was averted, you were eager to strip the hero of his accomplishments, to dismantle the very bravery that saved you, ingratitude personified."
This accusation struck a deep chord among the assembled Gods of War, many of whom had previously fought alongside Nathan. Their faces betrayed a sense of remorse.
Wolfric, sensing the potential
demoralization of his forces due to
Nathan's piercing words, hastily
interjected, "Enough, Nathan! Stop
calling yourself a hero. We would have triumphed over the vampires overthrown the Gods, and
conquered the Divine Realm without your intervention. Don't overestimate your importance. Remember, during your clash with the Four Emperors of the Universe, we saw your true form, a monstrous creature with ten wings. If you refuse to surrender today, if you persist in denying your infiltration among us humans, then prepare yourself for our retaliation."
To this, Nathan responded with a scornful sneer, "You've revealed your true intentions, making further pretense pointless. Words have lost their value. It's time to let our fists determine the outcome!"
What do you think?
