Chapter 147
Chapter 147:
Khloe remained unfazed, raising an eyebrow in mild confusion.
“Judith Perez?”
The man fell quiet, and Khloe’s expression darkened.
Judith was the celebrity who had been shot on set, and Khloe had been involved in the incident, though not directly responsible.
However, Judith wasn’t blameless; she had sabotaged other actresses to land roles, leaving at least five of them disfigured. It was Henrik, not Khloe, who had taken care of Judith. This man clearly had some information, but he misunderstood the situation and couldn’t have been close to Judith.
The freckled man yelled furiously, “Khloe Evans, you killed your rival to take her role. Someone as cruel as you deserves to rot in hell. Today, I’ll scar your face and show the world just how vile you are! Judith’s fans, get her!”
Khloe’s piercing gaze scanned the crowd, spotting a few men dressed alike, each holding a knife.
A faint, mocking smile curled at the corners of Khloe’s lips.
The men moved with unsettling precision, as though they were soldiers following a commander’s orders. Their knives, identical and sharp, hinted at a carefully planned attack.
Someone had set this up, intending to use the chaos to harm her and ruin her reputation. Even if the police investigated, they’d find no trace.
These men would disappear without a trace, leaving behind no proof of their involvement.
Since becoming Henrik’s fiancée, Khloe had honed her self-defense skills. Her three years in prison had also taught her some brutal techniques. With a swift, expert move, she knocked the freckled man unconscious using a precise pressure point, then rubbed her wrist, her confidence clear as she surveyed the scene.noveldrama
“Go ahead,” she said, her voice calm and steady.
The men, sensing her unshaken resolve, drew their knives and rushed at her.

Just then, a silver-gray limousine sped up from behind, halting in front of Khloe, cutting off the attackers’ path. The eagle emblem on the hood gleamed in the sunlight, catching everyone’s eye.
At the same time, a convoy of black cars pulled up at the gate, forming a perfect circle around Khloe and the attackers. From above, it looked like a grand, calculated formation, awe-inspiring in its precision.
The attackers faltered, their eyes widening in fear as they stared at the vehicles surrounding them.
Before they could make a move, the car doors swung open, and a group of powerful, uniformed men stepped out. In moments, the attackers were overpowered and pinned to the ground, leaving a wide, open space around Khloe.
The sunlight fractured into dazzling fragments as a car door creaked open. A tall, elegant figure stepped out, and before anyone could make out his face, he unfurled a black umbrella. His fingers tightened around the umbrella’s handle as he strode toward Khloe, each step purposeful and steady.
The umbrella was covering half his face, leaving only his sculpted jawline visible, resembling a noble, mysterious ruler making a grand entrance.
Khloe stood at the center of the clearing, her eyes locked on Henrik.
With each step he took, Khloe’s heart seemed to beat a little faster, as if his presence alone could make it skip.
Henrik stopped before Khloe, angling the umbrella towards her, his gaze soft with deep affection. “Aren’t you afraid of getting sunburned?” he asked.
