No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric)

Noelle sneered at Xenia's pitiful act. "I hope you won't do something like this again, lest you suffer from the consequences of your own actions once more."

She then turned to Donovan and continued, "I hope that you will all treat Noelle fairly. I get along with her quite well, so if I ever find out that the Liddells are mistreating her, I will personally come to settle the matter."

Noelle was surprised that Emma would defend her so strongly.

Donovan was even more surprised than she was. He replied politely. "Don't worry, Mrs. Greene. Noelle's my only sister; of course, I would treat her well.

"Everything that happened just now was just a misunderstanding. We've already reconciled, isn't that right, Noelle?"

Noelle turned to Emma and said, "Thank you for attending today's charity sales event, Mrs. Greene. I really appreciate it."

Emma patted Noelle's hand and replied, "Then we'll be taking our leave for now. Oh, yes, let's exchange contacts. We should meet up and chat over a cup of tea sometime.

Noelle was slightly taken aback before taking out her phone to add Emma on WhatsApp.

a moment before asking. "Was Noelle being bullied?"

Magnus recounted what had happened earlier, spreading his hands. "Yeah, Mrs. Parham was pretty cruel. She wanted Noelle to pick up food from the ground and eat it. I was about to step in, but Mom stormed in faster than I did.

"Given how powerful our Mom is, I didn't even get to do a thing once she's gotten into the fray."

Cedric frowned in response. He did not expect Emma to defend Noelle.

Magnus continued, "Cedric, I think Mom has also been completely won over by Noelle's charms. I guess you can finally announce that the two of you are a couple."

"Shut it!" Cedric could tell that things were not so simple. He hesitated for a moment before finally turning toward the lounge.

He knew that the truth would have to be made clear sooner or later.

Meanwhile, the lounge was eerily quiet. After Emma and Brittany had left, Xenia immediately ran to the restroom and threw up before rinsing her mouth.

She came back to the lounge with bloodshot eyes and said, "Donovan, Mrs. Parham was definitely doing it on purpose! This whole matter has nothing to do with me at all!"

She was on the verge of losing it.
