Chapter 396
"As the company's manager, Mr. Rosewell, you abused your power for personal gain and made unauthorized decisions to claim dozens of company-owned antiques for yourself.
"This matter has already reached Eldmere City's police department, tarnishing our company's image. Therefore, you are fined 30 thousand dollars as a warning to others."
The moment Angela finished speaking, everyone was in complete shock.
A promotion followed by an immediate fine-what kind of logic was that? What was the reason behind it?
Felix's expression turned sour. He wanted to deny it, but too many people had already witnessed what had happened. A few words wouldn't be enough to make this go away.
30 thousand dollars? This crazy woman had gone too far! Angela had actually dared to walk all over him!
Fuming, Felix immediately reported the matter to Dexter. Half an hour later, Dexter replied, saying that all company matters were now under Angela's control and he wouldn't intervene. Seething, Felix called Fiona, but she also unexpectedly brushed him off coldly.
Something was off. Angela wasn't acting like the person he'd heard about. Hadn't Dexter and Fiona always disliked Angela? Why had that suddenly changed?
Downing a few drinks, Felix decided to take a softer approach for now. He needed to figure out what kind of person Angela really was, find her weak spot, and then drive her out of his territory.
...
That evening, over dinner, Dexter asked, "What do you plan to do next?"
It was Angela's first day at the company, and she'd already dealt Felix a huge
blow. There was no way he would let this slide.
Angela took a sip of mushroom
soup. "I'm going to replace all of hisnoveldrama
people and temporarily bring in
some of your staff to cover the gaps. Then, I'll set up a situation where he makes a mistake one big enough to get him kicked out for good."
She was ruthless and decisive.
Dexter chuckled awkwardly. "Be careful. Uncle Felix has a terrible temper. If you
two clash, it's likely you'll suffer the consequences."
Angela smirked. "Then let's wait and see."
She was confident and fearless. She didn't see Felix as a threat at all.
The next morning, Angela acted fast. She fired a group of incompetent, corrupt employees and replaced them with capable staff from Dexter's team. By the time Felix finally strolled in late after sleeping in it was already too late.
Angela was in the deputy manager's office discussing matters with David when Felix suddenly barged in, gritting his teeth. "Angela Graham, who gave you the right to fire so many people?"
Most of them were people he'd placed in different departments to help him siphon money.
"Before I came here, I'd already investigated most of the
management. Some were decent and had a conscience, but others. were just occupying positions while using company resources for personal gain.
"There was a valid reason to dismiss each and every one of them. All the evidence is right here. Do you want to see for yourself?"
Angela slid a folder across the table. "I'll also arrange for a performance evaluation of all management staff. Those who fail will either be demoted or dismissed."
Felix snapped in frustration. "Angela, you already have your own company! Why are you interfering here?"
"Since Dexter has entrusted me with this company, I must ensure it develops well," Angela replied firmly.
What do you think?
