Chapter 394
"Uncle Felix, listen..." Dexter quietly pulled Felix aside. "I've already handed this company over to Angela. She's experienced in managing a company. So from now on, she makes all the decisions here. My mom and I have no say in anything."
Felix's face turned livid with anger. "Why did you give it to her? What right does she have to take your things?"
Dexter let out a bitter smile and said helplessly, "My wife is a tough woman. What can I do?"
"You... You coward! How can you let your wife boss you around? Now, I have to suffer such humiliation because of you!" Felix exclaimed in exasperation.
He glared at Dexter in frustration and barked, "Have you forgotten how well I treated you when you were younger? Didn't I even save you from those criminals too?"
Felix's reaction came as no surprise. Every time he wanted something, he would bring up the past. Dexter was tired of it, but he was equally helpless whenever it happened.
"I can personally send you one or two items if you have your eye on something, Uncle Felix. It's not a big deal. Let's not dwell on this. Have your men return the goods. Otherwise, I won't be able to keep order here.
"If you take from us today, and someone else takes from us tomorrow, how will we keep the company running?" Angela said with a smile.
Felix was furious. He paced back and forth in the lobby a few times before finally finding his voice.
"You... You win this time!" he bellowed.
With that, he turned and stormed away.
"If you think I handled this poorly, go ahead and criticize me. But I won't change my mind," Angela said, shrugging as she sat down on the couch and leisurely sipped her tea.
Then, she remarked, "When dealing with scoundrels like him, being soft-hearted will just hold you back."
Dexter and Fiona exchanged glances and saw the surprise in each other's eyes. "That's not true," Fiona said as she sat down beside Angela.
"You did... pretty well. But do you really think he'll stop? He's been doing as he pleases for over half a year. Most of the employees here have been replaced by
yes-men who suck up to him. It's not going to be easy to fix, is it?"
"What's so hard about that? I'll take
things one step at a time. Since Dexter already transferred the
shares to me, I'm the boss here now. Anyone who dares go against me will get utterly humiliated in return," Angela sneered, not taking Felix seriously at all.
To her, Felix wasn't that much of a problem.
Later, Angela called in the company's general manager, David Kane, to ask about the situation.
That was when she realized that
Felix had already turned the company into a complete mess. It no longer functioned like a proper company, and the employees weren't really working either All they did was play along with him and
keep him happy.
After thinking for a moment, Angela instructed David to inform everyone there
would be a management meeting at 3:00 pm.
David hesitated, his expression growing conflicted.
"What is it? Just say it," Angela said.
"To be honest
Ms. Graham, the real
person in charge of the company right now is actually Mr. Rosewell. Even though he's the deputy manager on paper, he actually a lot of power. Only he has the authority to call a management meeting," David explained. noveldrama
He smiled bitterly, feeling like a complete failure. Even though he'd been
personally appointed as the general manager by Dexter, he'd been sidelined. On top of that, he was constantly brushed aside and forced to make way for Felix.
"That's fine. Just send out the notice," Angela insisted.
At 3:00 pm, Angela and David were the only ones in the meeting room.
David looked embarrassed as he repeatedly checked his watch. However, Angela remained unfazed. She casually sipped her coffee while flipping through the company's employee records.
When the clock struck 3:30 pm, Angela got up and headed straight to Felix's office.
What do you think?
