Chapter 146 Nose Job

The air in the Eminence lobby was filled with a sense of anticipation and creative energy, as talented individuals from diverse backgrounds milled about, their vibrant personalities and unique fashion sense adding colour to the surroundings.

The constant buzz of conversations, laughter, and occasional bursts of music further enlivened the atmosphere.

From the lobby, visitors could catch glimpses of sleek glass doors leading to recording studios, dance practice rooms, and offices where managers and agents worked tirelessly to shape the careers of aspiring artists.

Just as Darya stepped inside, she spotted Amelia, decked out in an eye-catching ensemble of a pink dress, pink high heels, pink earrings, and a pink handbag.

The actress cast an arrogant and dismissive look at the other aspiring artists in the lobby, pausing at the sight

of Darya.

She strutted over. 'Hey there, coming to beg Bradley Gould for some PR assistance?'

As she jeered, her heavily adorned face contorted into an almost grotesque smile.

Darya couldn't help but feel sorry for the audience forced to watch Amelia's over- the-top acting in her films and TV dramas.

Without the Langford family's help, Amelia probably wouldn't have made it in showbiz even as a C-lister.

'What's that got to do with you?' Darya glanced at her indifferently, a sneer forming on her lips.

Unfazed, Amelia snorted coldly and retorted, 'You better watch that attitude of yours. Who do you think you are? No one in this entire industry dares to cross me! One word from me to Bradley, and you'll be ruined!'

Darya crossed her arms. 'Is that so?'

'Of course!' Amelia jutted out her chin. 'I'm a celebrity, and my fans alone could annihilate you with their online attacks! You are not an industry insider, so you don't understand the power of trolls.'

Darya responded nonchalantly, raising her gaze to meet Amelia's. 'So, are you admitting that you are the one who spread the rumours about me having an affair with both Callan and Oliver?'

Amelia replied bluntly, 'Yep, it was all me. So what? I'm going to teach you a

lesson and show you that I'm not someone to be trifled with!'

Engaging in an argument with Amelia felt juvenile, like arguing with a kindergartener.

Darya believed it was a waste of time.

Her silence seemed to encourage Amelia. 'Is Oliver your latest boy toy? Well, I'l make sure he never finds work in this industry again! Once I'm done, he'll be lucky to get a job as a janitor.'

Amelia had nursed a deep grudge against Darya ever since three years ago, when Darya stole Micah from her.

Now, it was time for her to exact revenge.

Not only did she remember the fresh grievances from the day before, but the old wounds from three years ago still burned within her.

Amelia was determined to see just how smug Darya could be.

Faced with Amelia's provocation, Darya's demeanour remained unpertued, and she even flashed a slight,

taunting smile.

This indifferent expression only fuelled Amelia's annoyance.

'Miss Langford, don't tell me you're doing this to me for Micah's sake?' Darya asked, her words dripping with

sarcasm.

'That's right, I'm doing this for Micah,' Amelia answered proudly. 'If you already know this, then why don't you just get lost and stop harassing him? Or else, don't blame me for wanting to destroy you!'

Amelia's impotent threat nearly elicited a laugh from Darya.

Who in their right mind would want to talk to, let alone harass, Micah?

Darya was far too occupied with her company to waste time competing for Micah's attention.noveldrama

Whether it was Amelia or Regina, why did they both treat her as some imaginary enemy?

'Amelia, why would I bother picking up scraps that I once threw into the trash can? You're the only one who enjoys picking up garbage, right?' Darya smiled and taunted Amelia. 'I'll trouble you to tell your dear Micah to stop harassing me. I'm not interested in him.'

Darya's contemptuous attitude towards Micah caused Amelia's face to flush crimson with anger.

The Darya of the past was just like Amelia, head over heels in love with Micah. But now, Darya had come to realise that Micah wasn't worthy of her affection.

'If you want to kick Oliver out of the entertainment industry, then I'll have no choice but to throw my weight behind him,' Darya continued, her gaze fixed on Amelia's bewildered expression.

'And you,' Darya added, 'try not to make so many exaggerated facial expressions. Your nose job looks relatively recent. I'm sure you've heard of the actress who blew her nose too hard and it almost fell off. On live TV, no

less.'

'What nose job?' Amelia took a panicked step back and cast a furtive glance around.

She hissed in a barely audible voice, 'Don't you dare mention my nose job!'

'I won't if you'll stop bothering me.' Darya smirked.

Ignoring Amelia, she confidently strode towards the elevator, bypassing the front desk.

Amelia hurriedly followed, entering the elevator alongside her.

As the elevator reached the floor housing Bradley Gould's office, Darya was warmly greeted by his secretary, who got tipped off by the lobby receptionist.

'Miss McAllister, good morning. I'll let the boss know you are here.' Scarlett Hartwell beamed at Darya.

The vivacious and efficient secretary possessed an irresistible charm that captivated all who cross her path.

With lustrous chestnut locks cascading down her shoulders, she exuded a graceful and poised demeanour.

Her expressive emerald eyes sparkled with intelligence and warmth, hinting at her exceptional wit and quick

thinking.

Scarlett's fashion sense was a blend of professionalism and contemporary elegance.

Today, she wore a tailored dark blue pencil skirt and a matching blouse, accentuating her slender figure while maintaining an air of sophistication.

Whether she was efficiently managing schedules, handling confidential documents, or gracefully welcoming guests, Scarlett's magnetic presence and impeccable sense of style made her an indispensable asset to the CEO and a subject of admiration among her colleagues.

Darya had often thought of poaching her to work at Paragon, but Bradley had adamantly refused to let her go.

'Hello? Do you not have eyes? Can't you see that I'm here too?' Amelia fumed. Scarlett bowed slightly. 'Miss Langford, my apologies."

'Tell Bradley Gould I want to see him immediately,' Amelia demanded, shooting a glare at the secretary.

Scarlett remained where she was. 'I'm very sorry, Miss Langford, but Miss McAllister was here first.'
