Fixing Together
"Where is he?" Ara asked. It had been days since Nate had fled.
"We are searching," Killian answered with a heavy sigh. Ara's features twisted in strong disapproval.
"That girl must be going through hell," her voice rose an octave as she reminded him. She clutched the lapel of his coat. Worry had been eating away at her ever since his escape.
"You saw it in his eyes, didn't you? The madness, the rage, the fatal obsession. It still haunts me," Ara's voice wavered, she was scared for that girl. "Killian. Please, rescue that girl before it's too late."
Killian drew her into his arms. His countenance conveyed disappointment.
"How did our son become a monster, Killian? How did it happen?" she sobbed in his arms.noveldrama
"I'll find them," Killian promised her. He had gone so long without consequences that he began to feel he was beyond the reach of Karma. But now, it dawned upon him. His son was his Karma. Nate was making the same mistake he had committed. What Killian hadn't known then, and what Nate didn't understand now, was that even if his girl forgave, the guilt would never leave. He knew Nate loved that girl. He saw the same passion in his eyes that he had for Bella. But the path he had taken wasn't correct. He loved his Bella with every ounce of his soul, and that's the reason he still hadn't forgiven himself entirely for hurting her. He didn't want Nate to walk the same path, but it seemed it was already too late.
He walked into the kitchen to find her already at the counter, chopping veggies. The steam curled up from the pan on the stove, suggesting she had been here for a while. An adoring smile tugged at his lips. Her hair was loosely coiled in a bun, with a few delicate wisps tumbling down the curve of her swan-like neck. They bounced gently every time she moved, juggling between chopping and stirring the pan. Her sleeve had slipped just enough to reveal a stretch of buttery soft skin. There was something inherently soft about her. So feminine, so graceful, so fucking delicate— she leaves him weak kneed. But at the same time, her fragility fed his strength; it inspired him to be the best male for her who would protect her, now and always.
Smiling, he walked towards her and hugged her from behind.
"Good morning," he whispered, purposefully rubbing his rough beard across her soft cheek. She hissed, and he chuckled. The girl turned her head to look at him, only to get her mouth crushed down by his. He kissed her, molding their lips together. He turned her around and grasped her ass while deepening the kiss. It was a tender kiss meant to last for seconds on the lips but forever in the hearts. It was soaked with love, admiration, and undeniable need. He needed her in his life, and his every touch conveyed that- from his soft caresses to his unyielding thrusts.
She thought he fancied Gloria, but little did she know it was she who consumed him. His body reacted only to her. No woman ever made his cock even twitch with desire, let alone have him hard. She was his only cock-teaser. And a cock-teaser she was.
He broke the kiss and gazed down at her with genuine adoration. Her eyes were fixed on the cross sitting in the center of his bare chest. Bringing his hand up, Nate gently began caressing her cheek.
"You've no idea how proud I am of you.." he began, her astonished eyes snapped up to his. Nate gave her his rare smile, brushing her cheek and added, "The way you stood you ground last night and gave it back to that fucker...you were amazing."
Sera blinked, unsure if she had heard correctly. He was complimenting her. It just sounded so foreign, not because it was coming from him, but because no one had said it to her before. No one had told her she was worth being proud over. And Nate knew it.
He had thrown her off balance, speechless.
"I..I am making breakfast," she murmured, spinning just in time, right before a tear slid down her cheek.
Leaning in, Nate kissed her nape, his eyes closing in delight. He had never imagined kismelf to be this clingy but he was. So much that he didn't want to leave her alone even for a second. He wanted to keep touching her, even if it meant just holding her hand. He craved physical contact with her all the time.
"The sink seems to be clogged. Can..can you take a look?" she asked hesitantly. She tried to fix it but failed.
He pulled away to check the sink, crouching down to examine it. It didn't take long to figure out the problem. The pipe was clogged and needed a good pump. But he didn't have the right tool for it.
"Our neighbor must have the tools," Sera suggested tentatively. Nate had already figured that out.
He had no desire to deal with the neighbors again, but he didn't have a choice. Reluctantly, he went over to their neighbor, knocked at the door. Mr. Jang opened the door, looking surprised.
"Nate," he greeted, smiling.
"Do you have a pump?" Nate asked, not interested in exchanging pleasantries. "Sure. Come on in. I'll get that in a minute," Mr. Jang gestured for him to get in.
"I am fine here," Nate refused with a straight face. The man's smile faltered, not having been answered so coldly before.
"Okay," Mr. Jang replied, looking a bit awkward before going inside and returning with a pump in a minute.
Nate took the pump and left. Mr. Jang closed the door.
"I don't know why, but I am not getting good vibes from them," Mrs. Jang
expressed, who was in the living room all along. Mr. Jang nodded in agreement, having sensed the same energy.
"I think they have fled from home.
The girl looks too young and...I don't know, but she doesn't look....," Mrsz Jang tried but wasn't able to put her feelings in words. She added with a sigh, Something is wrong there. My instincts are telling me."
"They are not our business, honey. Let's not get involved, okay?" Mr. Jang coaxed, aware just how much his wife loved getting involved. She responded with
a half-hearted nod.
Nate returned and began working on the problem while she cooked. Sera snuck glances at him as he worked on the sink, uncertain about him pulling off the task. He wasn't cut out for this. But he surprised her by fixing the blockage.
