Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier)

Chapter 45

Chapter 45 1/1

"Your situation is already a mess, and he still has the nerve to support another woman!" Maryanne fumed. "If he had stood by your side just now, I bet your dad wouldn't have dared to hit you!" Lily couldn't tear her gaze away from the broadcast.

He carried himself with a natural grace. He was calm and composed in every movement. His features were undeniably handsome, strikingly defined, and perfectly symmetrical.

It wasn't just his good looks, there was something arrestingly flawless about him.

However, no one would ever think that he was actually a cold-hearted person!

Lily was heartbroken the moment when she saw Xavier standing beside Sarah and standing up for her.

"Maryanne, what's going on?" Terence's gentle voice called from not far away.

Maryanne tilted to one side while exaggerating a wink and a grimace. She motioned toward Lily beside her.

Lily was lost in her thoughts. She gazed downward with her tears clinging to her lashes.

The interview was still playing on her phone. Terence could hear everything clearly as he walked toward her.

After a moment of consideration, he asked, "Lily, do you understand much about the legal field?"

Pulled from her daze, Lily looked up at him.

Her eyes were red and swollen, but her expression was calm.

"Not really."

Terence looked at her with a softened gaze because he felt bad for her. "Alan is indeed a well-known lawyer, but each attorney specializes in different kinds of cases. Alan has never handled fraud charges like this. In comparison, Mr. Hammock is far more experienced." "Are you saying Lily should be grateful to Xavier the hound?"

Maryanne was clearly displeased. "Don't tell me you're taking his side now!"

"I'm not defending Xavier. I'm just stating the facts."noveldrama

He knew there were hidden motives surrounding this legal case, and Lily had the right to be aware.

Lily's eyes flickered before she lowered her gaze again.

She said calmly, "Maryanne, don't be upset. Regardless of the lawyers, it doesn't change the fact that I'm divorcing Xavier."

The contract of Hayden's case was already signed with Sylvester.

Even if she divorced Xavier, Sylvester would still be obligated to represent Hayden.

She had nothing left to worry about.

"Then, when are you guys divorcing?" Maryanne asked eagerly.

Lily thought for a moment before replying, "I'll draft a divorce agreement later and bring it up with him tonight."

Before starting at Lupier next week, she planned to close this chapter of her life.

"Divorce isn't a trivial matter, Lily. Are you sure?"

Terence's hands tensed at his sides as he waited for her response.

Lily raised her head to meet his gaze and nodded firmly. "I'm sure."

At her answer, Terence's clenched hands relaxed. He pursed his lips and said, "Maryanne, you take her home."

"It's okay. I'll be fine on my own. I need some time to clear my head," Lily refused his offer. Her mind was in chaos, so she needed to calm herself down before going home.

Maryanne wanted to say something, but a look from Terence stopped her.

"If anything comes up, call Maryanne or me. Take care of yourself," Terence said.

"Thanks, Terence. I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

She hadn't mentioned her plans for divorce the last time she had spoken to him about Xavier.

Now that Terence knew about the issues between her and Xavier, she felt uneasy.

Terence gave her a gentle smile and patted her shoulder. "You don't have to be so formal with me." "Exactly!" Maryanne said while linking her arm with Lily's. "Just think of my brother as your own!"
