Chapter 1256
"Cynthia Zeller!" Rosalie called out to her. "You can't leave! I've signed the contract and swore that I won't tell anyone. I won't do that, I promise!" Cynthia refused to budge. "I don't believe you unless you swear upon your son!"
"I can't swear upon my son! I can swear upon myself!"
Cynthia scoffed.
"Rosalie Young, what are you scared of? Do you have a guilty conscience? Are you worried you might implicate your son after swearing upon his name when you tell others about what happened today? You look as though you're ready to tell someone else about it right away! Otherwise, why do you not dare to swear?noveldrama
"In that case, you can forget about getting this evidence. Your grandma will just have to die an unjust death while the culprit goes scot-free and even gets to enjoy life being Mrs. Spencer!"
Rosalie clenched her fists, fire burning in her chest. She pounced on Cynthia and tried to snatch the phone over.
Cynthia shoved Rosalie to the ground. "Trying to snatch the phone for me? There's no point since you can't even unlock it. What's more, I programmed it such that if the password is not keyed in over the next 10 minutes, the video and recording will be automatically deleted." "No!' Rosalie yelled. "Don't delete them!"
"Then swear! So what if you swear upon your son's name? As long as you don't tell anyone about it, your son will be fine. As long as you keep your word, nothing will happen. There's no need to fear. Swear upon your son and I'll give you the evidence right away. Don't you want to take revenge for your grandmother?"
Cynthia's voice was like a chant, eating away at Rosalie's defenses.
Rosalie took a deep breath and finally said in a pained voice, "I swear, if...if I were to expose you, my son...he...he'll die a terrible death."
She bit her lips as tears fell down her cheeks.
"No, you should say that your son Steve will die a terrible death!"
"Cynthia, you..."
"Say it!" Cynthia yelled. "Hurry and say it! If you don't swear like that, I won't give you the evidence and your grandmother will die an unjust death. Say it!"
Rosalie collapsed on the ground and said, "If I were to expose you, my son Steve Young would die a terrible death."
Cynthia finally felt at ease enough to pick up the contract on the floor. "You should've said that earlier. We wouldn't have wasted so much time in between."
She glanced at her watch and
exclaimed, "Oh, I've got to attend Theo's wedding! When he finds out the true colors of the woman he's about to marry, he'll surely have a mental breakdown. I have to be by his side and seize the chance. I'll be the ultimate winner and the eventual Mrs. Spencer. Hahaha...!"
She laughed and threw her phone to Rosalie.
"This is a temporary phone and it's not password-protected at all. The video and recording are inside. Take it." With that, she left in all smiles.
Rosalie wiped the tears from her face and picked up the phone. With trembling fingers, she clicked on the video.
She watched the video and listened to the recording once through before crawling up and rushing into the room. She carried Steve in her arms and hugged him tight.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I swore upon your name. I'm such a wicked mother! But don't you worry! I won't tell anyone about this, so nothing will happen to you. As long as Rdon't tell anyone about it, you'll be fine."

Rosalie kissed her son's cheek hard and hugged him tight again.
"Mama," Steve cooed as he hugged Rosalie's neck and leaned into her embrace. He then turned his head and planted a gentle kiss on her cheek. Rosalie burst into tears and wept guiltily, "Stevie, I'm sorry."
"Mama...no cry..."
Steve was a smart boy capable of speaking a few words. Although he couldn't string sentences together just yet, he could sense what adults were trying to tell him and knew just how to comfort his mother.
"Okay, I won't cry. I have something very important to do right now. Stevie, after I'm done with it, I'll take you away from this place," Rosalie vowed.
