Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Simon was nothing but ungrateful, a man who burned bridges and discarded those who had once helped him.

"Can you lend me some money?" he asked.

"Money?" Elsie frowned. "Didn't I already give you more than enough?"

She had already contributed a substantial amount, and Janice had also bought out Simon's shares, totaling about 20 million dollars.

After covering the company's startup costs and the factory, they'd only spent about five million dollars.

"Besides the company funds, you must have some leftover, right?"

Simon clenched his fists.

Yes, he did have some money left, but it was set aside for more urgent needs. He couldn't afford to part with it all.

He figured it would be easiest if Elsie lent him the money. He could claim it was for her salary and use that excuse to avoid paying her back. She'd never protest.

It had worked every time before, and he was confident it would work again. But this time, he had made a grave miscalculation.

Elsie crossed her arms. "So, Simon, what exactly have you gotten yourself into?"

Simon gritted his teeth. "I broke some things by accident, and now, they want compensation. I can't just ignore it. What would people think if I don't pay?"

Elsie's frustration flared. They had invested in the company together. If she cut ties with Simon now, all her money would be lost.

"Wait here."

A short while later, Elsie returned with a bank card in her hand. "This is all I have left-just over two million dollars. But remember, it's a loan. You'll need to pay me back because I'm out of options."

Elsie had finally had enough. Her patience shattered, and without hesitation, she raised her hand and struck Simon hard across the face.

"If-" Simon barely got a word out before Elsie cut him off.

"Listen up, Simon! Don't you dare order me around! I don't owe you a damn thing I don't rely on you for food, shelter, or money! Half of the investment in Legacy Twine came from me, so what makes youthink you can boss me around? You're the one in trouble, and I'm the one bailing you out. Get that straight!

"If you ever speak to me like that again, I'll pull every last cent of my investment

and watch you go down in flames."

With a final glare, she added, "And don't forget-you owe me interest."

As Elsie vanished inside, Simon stood frozen, his cheek throbbing from the slap. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to make her pay for humiliating him. How dare she treat him like this? What gave her the right?

Just because she invested some money into Legacy Twine, did she really think that made her superior?

The next day arrived swiftly.

As soon as Elsie stepped into Legacy Twine, Helena and Sarah blocked her path.

"How dare you hit Simon? You lawless brat, I'll teach you a lesson!" Helena screeched furiously.

Annoyed beyond words, Elsie shoved her aside.

Helena lost her balance and crashed to the floor.

Sarah gasped in disbelief. "Elsie! That was completely out of line—"

"And why should I care? She's nothing to me."

Sarah's expression hardened. "You're dating my brother! That means you owe our family respect!"

A cold chuckle escaped Elsie's lips. "Oh, is that how it works? Then go ahead-tell your brother to break up with me. I'll withdraw my investment and walk away from this pathetic little company. Let's see if he's willing to let that happen."

Helena's face contorted with rage. "You small-town nobodies only care about money! Just like that wretched Janice!"

Elsie shook her head. "Oh, don't get it twisted; I'm nothing like her. She might

have let you walk all over her, but I don't tolerate nonsense. Keep pushing me, old hag, and the next slap will be yours to take!"
