The younger

sales associate looked embarrassed and ended up handing the card back to the older one without a word.

The older sales associate beamed, clutching the card tightly. She leaned forward a little and said to me with extra politeness, "Miss, right this way!"

I smiled and followed her toward the section with the curtain.

But just before I stepped behind it, the curtain moved, and a short-haired young lady walked out.

She had golden hair, striking blue eyes, and a tanned complexion. She was slim but tall, and I could sense a strange kind of werewolf scent on her.

Hera told me right away that she was probably a mixed-blood, half-human and half-werewolf.

The short-haired young lady looked right at me and said indifferently, "No need to trouble anyone. I'm here."

My eyes instantly lit up.

"Cindy? You useless half-blood!" the younger sales associate exploded, taking out all her anger on her. "Why aren't you in the back unloading boxes? And look at your outfit! You'll scare off our customers! Get back inside now!"

"Cindy?" I repeated her name curiously.

The older sales associate explained softly, "Yes, she's the only Jefferson here. But she's not a designer. I'm not sure if she's the one you're looking for."

"It's her," I said, exhaling slowly.

Her real name was Cynthia, and she was a jewelry designer.

We weren't exactly friends, but her mentor was Rosalie Jefferson, a world-class jewelry designer.

Back when I studied fashion design, I had some contact with Rosalie. We eventually lost touch, and naturally, I hadn't crossed paths with Cynthia, the girl Rosalie raised.

"So you're dead set on this?" I stepped closer, my voice low and serious.

Before she could finish, I jammed a silver needle into her neck. She instantly passed out.

I shoved her toward Humbert, who was still frozen in shock, and instructed, "Take her."

To stop anything crazy from happening once Cynthia woke up, we quickly left the jewelry store and went straight for the plane.

When she finally regained consciousness during the flight, she shot me a furious glare. "I don't care where you take me! I'll get back there!

"If I can't wait for my mentor, I'd rather die in the Cyclone Pack!"

"Do you think I can't manage without you?" I snapped, clenching my jaw. Her attitude was seriously pushing me to the edge.

Right away, she blew up like an angry wolf cub. “Then untie me! Who told you to step in? I'm choosing to stay! What gives you the right to mess with my life?"

"If you don't shut up, I'll kill you right here. You'll never see your mentor again!" I shouted, finally hitting my limit.
